Irises Part I

April 1st, 2011

There are several types of irises that bloom at different times throughout spring and summer. Among them all, they come in a wide range of colors.

I haven’t seen irises  in wedding flowers, that I remember,  but I have seen them in flower arranging books.

A small white iris. I don't know what kind, although it's something other than a bearded iris, I believe.

A single iris (especially one of those white beauties!) could make a breathtaking centerpiece for a small table.

Spring Trees and Shrubs Part I

March 30th, 2011

Why in the world am I posting these? Read Flowers From the Garden or the Wild.

A flowering tree such as this pretty purple leaf plum would be best to use at the beginning of flowering (before it starts dropping petals) or just after the leaves come in (before the bugs get to them).
